Hillary and Jackie

This is the true story, made in England, of the Du Pré sisters who are ultra-talented musicians—one with the flute and the other a cellist. One goes on to greatness as a musician. The other one chooses marriage that slows down her career and her recognition in the world, but she is happily married with a beautiful country home and her famous sister desires her lifestyle. The warmth of this film touches the depths of the soul, particularly in an analogy given concerning cancer, a crab, and an unloving father. Watch out for it! There's a beautiful ...

Some special souls seem to be able to accept the blows in life, which often can cripple a person's capacity to want to survive. This story is about continued courage and hope: where...

Director Mike Cahill has made a higher-consciousness film that more than keeps your interest, with a reincarnation/repersonalization theme. Brit Marling is captivating. The film has much magic, because of her, and tragedy and a unique story plot that is both scientific and spiritual. Don't miss this one! Michael Pitt

In America

I recently viewed the film, In America, that, so far for the year 2004, is a favorite of mine.  It is a story about a young Irish family who immigrates to the United States, carrying with them the burdens of poverty and grief along with hopes of building a new life in a country full of promise and opportunity.

Actually, the film could be titled Overcoming In America, for even though we make geographical moves, we can't run from ourselves, and in this...
