The true story of Richard Pimentel who had less than a normal upbringing and becomes a speaker and advocate for handicapped veterans after being wounded in Vietnam and the loss of his hearing. He befriends a man with cerebral palsy, and the audience learns about how people react to physical handicaps, even though the mind is in tact. The story is very cleverly written, acted, and directed and is guaranteed to touch the emotions at many levels. It shows what one person can do to help ...

In America

I recently viewed the film, In America, that, so far for the year 2004, is a favorite of mine.  It is a story about a young Irish family who immigrates to the United States, carrying with them the burdens of poverty and grief along with hopes of building a new life in a country full of promise and opportunity.

The Notebook

The characters, including the French painter and lithographer, Toulouse ...

Lions for Lambs

Drama.
This is mostly a movie of dialogue that really has a lot to say about the state of politics, governments, and abuse of power. It also shows how people can be separated by consciousness. The battle scenes in Afghanistan should have been done in the daylight. I just hate it when they try to save money in special effects by doing night scenes. So don't watch it for the action, but there's a lot of good mind stuff and great messages; Robert Redford, Tom Cruise, Meryl Streep.
