Documentary

A very well-done documentary and winner of the Jury Prize AFI Silverdocs, about the life of band leader Roky Erickson , and his use of drugs---which led to schizophrenia and many years of mental disability. It gives a glimpse of Erickson's very unusual family--his mother and brothers. His mother was a 4th-order starseed (see The Cosmic Family, Volume 1), who could not deal with society herself. Roky also was a starseed and was close to his mother in their inability to deal with the world. He became more Urantian-looking as he gave up on believing that this world was going to change, as he lost faith in God and for a time even became a Satanist. He was rescued by a second-time Urantian brother who was more grounded and a musician in the Pittsburgh symphony orchestra, but Roky never regained his complete mind.
