I feel that I must expose the dangers of the film The Secret, because of its potential to cause many thousands to miss the will of God in major areas of their lives. “The secret” is really no secret.

In the Lucifer Rebellion 200,000 years ago, Lucifer basically told all constituents in the system of Satania (in which he, at one time, was the system sovereign), that God’s ascension plan was too difficult and that life was too hard doing it basically God’s way and that you can have anything you want if you just think positive thoughts, do what you want to do (i.e., self-assertion and unbridled liberty), and think like you deserve it all.

Obviously this sounds very good to the lower nature. Quick and immediate success always is tantalizing, as very few want to struggle to succeed, or sacrifice to succeed, or, even worse, to serve others to succeed. The thinking of The Secret is narcissistic and self-indulgent, and is purported by those whose idea of prosperity is financial success and material wealth.

True success is humility in God, and humility in God can bring material success, but then when you get material success, you give it away, because the person who acquires material success this way practices what Jesus taught, “Those who want to become great must become a servant to all.”

There’s nothing wrong with positive thinking, as long as your motives are to serve humanity. And if you truly wanted to serve humanity, you’d be doing it, without the material success—mite by mite, penny by penny, giving instead of taking.

Jesus taught the true secret of success; it’s the first commandment: love God with all your heart, mind, and soul and then your neighbor as yourself. If you can get that one right, then indeed the universe will work for you. Not because the universe has a mind of its own, but because God created the universe. If you leave God out of the universe, it’s not God manifesting for you; it’s the opposite force, the force of evil, some would call “the devil.” But more specifically, it’s the rebellious teaching of Lucifer outworked through the fallen Planetary Prince of Urantia (Earth), who is still on this planet trying to sell you his “secret.”
