This film depicts the horrors of inhumanity to others because of race or religion. This war took place in Lebanon in the 1970s between Christians, Moslems, and Jews. It's a tragic story of a young woman raised in religious fundamentalism who suffers unbelievable grief and loss and ends up in prison for many years. During her time in prison, she is tortured and raped. Yet, the story has an unbelievable redemption. The film has tremendous realism, and it's just like you are there, experiencing the moment. It is superbly acted by all in the film, and the direction of the film is Academy-Award direction in any country. It's a must see if you like to complain about life, because once you see this film you should never complain again! Not for the feeble of mind; Lubna Azabal, Melissa Desormeaux-Poulin, Director Denis Villeneuve. French, Arabic, and English with English subtitles.
