This film should have been up for an Academy Award for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor. It wouldn't have been nominated for Best Picture because of its theme, but wow was this a great film. The people on the streets in the neighborhood seemed very real, and you could hardly tell if they were actors or real street people. It reminded me of my old neighborhood of uptown 5th Avenue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. You would meet characters like the two brothers and all the others in the film. Truthfully, I don't know how I made it out alive. I just ran away from trouble as much as I could and had a strong father to keep me in place, which obviously these two brothers did not. You can hardly believe that in 24 hours so many things could happen in the neighborhood, but when people are so far out of God's will, shit really happens. Directors Benny Safdie and Josh Safdie did a magnificent job. Hope they do more directing. I wish Jennifer Jason Leigh would have had more scenes.

Robert Pattinson, Benny Safdie, Jennifer Jason Leigh.
