Australian/Bhutanese drama

A very interesting pictorial of life in Bhutan with Western influence creeping into the traditional culture. It's fun to see a Bhutanese with Nike tennis shoes and boom box sitting beside a monk playing a traditional string instrument high in the mountains. Check out the transportation. Spectacular views and cinematography lend to the mystical aspect of this film and story. Interesting characters keep you very interested in what characters will pop up next. The film keeps its spiritual tone in the simplicity of Bhutan culture. Lhakpa Dorji captivates the screen with her exotic beauty as Tashi. You too—as the Mystic Traveller did—fall into her spell; Tsewang Dandup, Sonam Kinga, Deki Yangzom, Director and Writer Khyentse Norbu, who also wrote and directed The Cup.
