Drama

This film adaption of a novel by Jodi Picoult will keep you in tears. One of the hardest things for any parent would be for the child to die before the parent, and especially at such a young age and in particular once you get to know them a little better and their personality develops. The grief is almost unbearable. I know; I went through it with my 7-year-old daughter. This picture brought back the pain. It is about a little girl diagnosed with cancer when she was very young and at the age of approximately 15 she is in her last days. The parents had a second child who becomes the donor child of many of her own body parts and finally what was needed was a kidney. This is the story of the love the family had for one another and decisions that almost tore them apart. I am glad that Cameron Diaz got an opportunity to show her acting ability as the mother fighting for her daughter's life, and Alec Baldwin was convincing as an attorney who became involved in the family's legal battle; Andromeda 'Anna' Fitzgerald.
