Kundun shows the respect that a community of believers in reincarnation have for a wise and ancient soul.  However, we feel that the religion itself is an evolutionary religion that does not take into consideration recent revelation.  It has a misunderstanding of reincarnation; the transmigration of the soul has to do with interuniversal ascension and is properly called repersonalization–a term which is found and defined in the book, The Cosmic Family, Volume 1.  The aspect of non-violence is a beautiful truth in their religion.  The political aspects of the film are important.  As to the artistic qualities and technicality of the film, it was slow moving and many of the scenes repeated themselves in theology.  We would suggest that rather than having your family spend more money on the film than needed, wait until it is on video.
