This is a beautiful film that combines history, valor, courageousness, and spirituality together to deliver, I think, one of the best films of faith ever made. It shows how the Mexican people fought against the Federalities from 1926-1929 to protect their right to worship Jesus Christ. They called themselves the Cristiadas (which means "Christ The King"). Over 200,000 Mexican Catholics were killed in this four-year period. It also shows how other Mexicans—the Federalities (who were also Catholic)—killed their own people and tortured them. Obviously they were Catholic in name only. It's an inspiring and emotional film that had me in tears, and many of the people in the audience (which I saw the film in Nogales, Arizona) were crying. Andy Garcia, again, is so blessed of God to make such magnificent films that he has made. I hope someday, in the next kingdom, I get to act with him. This should be up for an Oscar in some category this year. Spanish and English, with English subtitles; Peter O'Toole, Oscar Isaac, Eduardo Verástegui, Mauricio Kuri.
