I usually don't like dramatic comedies, but this one worked, because if you do a dramatic comedy you definitely have to be a really good director, and the director was in this case, because life is both dramatic and funny at the same time and people can be very humorous and the same person very dramatic. Good comedy contains both elements, with the exception of the modern profane comedians—who in my estimation are not comedians at all. This film addresses the issues of Arab, Jew, Palestinian, and Israeli politics through the eyes of American immigrants who team up to start a restaurant called AmericanEast. The characters are interesting and true to life; Sayed Badreya, Anthony Azizi, Tony Shalhoud, Alfre Woodard.
