Deliver Us From Evil

Award-winning documentary. The true story of Father Oliver O'Grady, a convicted child molester and pedifile who molested dozens of children (both male and female), and the cover-up by Bishop Mahoney of the Los Angeles Diocese---a cover up which stretches all the way to Rome and to then Cardinal Benedict, now the Catholic Pope. O'Grady only served 7 years and is now living freely in Ireland.

Bridge to Terabithia

Reviewed on Aug 07 2007

Two early-teen starseed children, a boy and a girl, who are different than their school peers find each other. She has a special imagination and brings them into a fantasy land called Terabithia, where they meet friendly beings as well as scary ones. The movie interchanges between real life at home and at school and the fantasy land and has some very special warm and emotional scenes. AnnaSophia Robb steals the screen as a very delightful, full-of-life adventurer. Definitely a film for the ...

The Tic Code

The Tic Code, directed by Gary Winick and starring Gregory Hines and Polly Draper (who was also the scriptwriter and producer), is a wonderful film about a ten-year-old genius pianist (Christopher Marquette) who has Tourette's Syndrome.  Besides the great jazz music heard throughout this film, the messages are so wonderful that if you take the time while viewing the film to think about the last message you may have to watch the film again to get the next wonderful ...

Disappearances

In 1932 backwoods Canada a man smuggles whiskey and deals with a supernatural character. A good film of down-home characters, despite the scenes when men are killed smuggling whiskey. Good triumphs over evil and a man's sordid past manifests present evils. Native American Gary Farmer plays his usual charming self, as a big man with a huge heart—a very lovable screen presence. Genevieve Bujold is an actresses' actress and is quite believable as a shamaness. Kris Kristofferson is quite ...

The Astronaut Farmer

The Astronaut Farmer is a heart-warming family film with issues that concern believing in one's self. The film portrays the struggles of a former astronaut-hopeful played by Billy Bob Thorton, and his present dream of building a rocket on his New Mexico ranch, living with his family, a teenage son and two small daughters, supportive wife (played by Virginia Madsen), and father-in-law (played by Bruce Dern). Wonderful real-life characters in the town make this film special in ...

Unbreakable

Clairvoyance is a developed art.  It can be taken away by God or practiced and learned to use for the good of God's kingdom.  It is obvious that the writer director, M. Night Shymalan, who also did The Sixth Sense, either has some level of this gift himself, or has gotten counsel from someone who has developed clairvoyance.

Having developed such a gift, one begins to wonder why God lets us see what He lets us see, ...

Waking The Dead

Reviewed on Jun 13 2007

This is the best movie I've ever seen in addressing the issue of the dead returning.  There was Ghost, but Ghost didn't deal with social issues like this movie did.  You find yourself enthralled with the youthful vitality in adressing social challenges, much like Barbra Streisand did in The Way We Were.

A young social and political activist, Sarah Williams (Jennifer Connelly) falls in love with a young ...
